Football Recap: East Wake Comes Up Short + How To Watch

East Wake was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were dealt a 48-19 defeat at the hands of the Vance County Vipers.

Jaiveon Johnson and Dylan Kiser certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Johnson threw for 208 yards and three TDs, while Kiser picked up 66 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Zion Thornton was a one-man wrecking crew For Vance County. as he rushed for 90 yards and one touchdown on only eight carries. Those 90 rushing yards gave Thornton a new career-high.

East Wake's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Vance County, the victory snapped their losing streak at seven games and leaves them with a 2-7 record.

Coming up, East Wake will face off against Knightdale at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Warriors will be up against the Knights' rather soft defense (which has allowed 33.44 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Vance County, they will host Franklinton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
