Downers Grove North got a massive performance out of Edgar Santos, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, two RBI, and one double. Those three hits gave Santos a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Russ Oros, who went 3-for-5 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
Meanwhile, Oak Lawn made easy work of De La Salle on Saturday and carried off an 11-1 win. The Spartans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 18 games by seven runs or more this season.
Peyton Melnik was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and one RBI.
Oak Lawn always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .528. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as De La Salle only posted an OBP of .346.
Oak Lawn's victory was their 13th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 22-12. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Downers Grove North, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 26-7 record this season.
Both Downers Grove North and Oak Lawn just can't seem to miss. The Trojans have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.8 hits per game. However, it's not like Oak Lawn struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.3 hits.
