Verdugo Hills's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 55-20 victory over the Monroe Vikings. With the Dons ahead 28-7 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Jered Smith was nothing short of spectacular: he threw for 267 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 73.9% of his passes, and also punched in two touchdowns on the ground. What's more, he racked up 141 passer rating, the most he's had since back in September of 2024. A healthy portion of Smith's aerial production (113 yards to be exact) went to Jack Iafrate.

Verdugo Hills' win bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Monroe, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.

Coming up, Verdugo Hills will be playing in front of their home fans against Fulton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Dons will be up against the Jaguars' rather soft defense (which has allowed 44 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Monroe, they will challenge Arleta at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
