Basketball Game Preview: Dietrich Blue Devils vs. Butte County Pirates

After both having extra time off, the Dietrich Blue Devils and the Butte County Pirates will shake off the cobwebs and challenge one another at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Dietrich will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

Dietrich is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They put the hurt on Glenns Ferry with a sharp 62-40 win two weeks ago. The Blue Devils have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 22 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Butte County, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They enjoyed a cozy 48-32 victory over Challis last Saturday.

Butte County's win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-6. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.0 points per game. As for Dietrich, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 4-4 record this season.

Dietrich beat Butte County 37-29 in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. Will Dietrich repeat their success, or does Butte County have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
