Basketball Recap: Howard's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Ten

Howard came tearing into Friday's matchup with nine straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20.9 points) and they left with even more momentum. They claimed a resounding 88-52 victory over the DuPont Tigers. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 21 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Bryson Lane, who went 10 for 12 on his way to 25 points in addition to seven steals and five assists. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 15.2 points per game. Dominic Awahmukalah was another key player, going 7 of 10 en route to 14 points and six rebounds.

Lane wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Howard was working as a unit and finished the game with 25 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in four consecutive games.

Howard pushed their record up to 11-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 77.0 points per game. As for DuPont, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.

Howard will face off against Sanford at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for DuPont, they will take on Archmere Academy at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
