Football Game Preview: New Hartford Spartans vs. Indian River Wolves

The New Hartford Spartans will take on the Indian River Wolves at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Indian River will be up against a hot New Hartford squad: the team just extended their winning streak to nine. New Hartford blew past South Jefferson 48-12 on Thursday. The final result isn't all that surprising considering New Hartford's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked 36th, while South Jefferson is ranked 310th).

Meanwhile, two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Indian River walked away with it. Everything went their way against the Thunder on Thursday as they made off with a 48-28 victory. The win continues a trend for the Wolves in their matchups with the Thunder: they've now won five in a row.

Indian River's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for New Hartford, their win bumped their record up to 9-0.

New Hartford came out on top in a nail-biter against Indian River when the teams last played back in September, sneaking past 50-48. Do the Spartans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wolves turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
