Baseball Recap: Delavan Comes Up Short

Delavan was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Olympia Spartans. If the Panthers were looking for revenge after losing 2-1 to the Spartans when the teams met back in May of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Delavan saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Trace Kight-Garlisch, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

Delavan's record now sits at 4-18. As for Olympia, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-17-1.

Coming up, Delavan will take on Cuba/Spoon River Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Olympia, they will face off against Lexington at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Spartans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Minutemen have averaged an impressive 6.8 runs per game this season.
