Happy Valley has gone 9-1 against Cloudland recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Warriors will face off against the Highlanders at 7:00 p.m. Happy Valley is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.8 runs per game this season.
Happy Valley made up a huge gap compared to their last game against North Greene, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Warriors blew past the Huskies 20-1 on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Warriors.
Drew Blevins made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over five innings pitched. Blevins was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI.
In other batting news, Happy Valley got a massive performance out of Aiden Hartsook, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Carlos Lopez, who scored three runs while going 1-for-2.
Meanwhile, Cloudland scored first but ultimately less than Unaka in their contest on Monday. They came up short against the Rangers, falling 19-9. That's two games in a row now that the Highlanders have lost by exactly ten runs.
Walker Gouge was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Thomas Job was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.
Happy Valley pushed their record up to 10-7-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Cloudland, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-11.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Happy Valley has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Cloudland struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Happy Valley took their win against Cloudland in their previous meeting back in March by a conclusive 17-7 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
