Football Game Preview: Franklinton Demons vs. Abbeville Wildcats + Official Tickets

The Franklinton Demons will take on the Abbeville Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Last Friday, Franklinton came up short against Sumner and fell 21-14. The contest marked the Demons' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Meanwhile, Abbeville beat Mamou 24-16 on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wildcats.

Abbeville's win came from a few key players Franklinton will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Jacolby Campbell, who picked up 121 receiving yards and one touchdown. An impressive showing, but he really ramped things up playing D: he forced one fumble and made 11 total tackles (1.0 for loss). Dazavien Maze was another key player, throwing for 284 yards and one TD.

Abbeville didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Andrew Payton III, Leonce Jack, and Cameron Samuels picked up one apiece. With that strong performance, Jack is now averaging an impressive 5.2 total tackles per game.

Franklinton's loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-2. As for Abbeville, their victory bumped their record up to 2-4.
