Baseball Recap: Castle Takes a Loss

Castle was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of the Kalani Falcons. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Falcons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-2 back in March.

Nixon Murphy was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed six innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

Castle's defeat dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Kalani, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Castle is set to challenge their familiar foe Moanalua at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Kalani will square off against rival Kailua at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
