Preview: Camden County Bruins vs. Gates County Red Barons

After three games on the road, Camden County is heading back home. They will take on the Gates County Red Barons at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Camden County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Thursday.

Last Thursday, Camden County lost to Nansemond-Suffolk Academy on the road by a decisive 68-52 margin. Even though they lost, Camden County's still made a splash on offense and bumped their average scoring up to 50.3 points per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

Despite the loss, Camden County got a solid performance out of Xzavior Wiggins, who scored 21 points along with 6 rebounds. Wiggins scored a full 40.4% of Camden County's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Noah Chopek was another key contributor, scoring 10 points.

Meanwhile, Gates County had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They strolled past Pasquotank County with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 74-57. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.

Camden County now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Gates County, their win bumped their record up to 1-3.

Camden County strolled past Gates County in their previous meeting last Tuesday by a score of 54-39. Will Camden County repeat their success, or does Gates County have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
