Football Recap: Legacy Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Legacy Christian Academy extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 1-4. They took a 48-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Kings Christian Crusaders. The Lions lost against the Crusaders in their previous head to head back in September of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 42-8 score last time.

As for Kings Christian, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.0 points over those games.

Kings Christian found their leader in sophomore Daniel Dinkins, who threw for 272 yards and five touchdowns, and also rushed for 95 yards and one TD on only nine carries. Thanks to that big game, Dinkins is now up to 16 passing touchdowns on the season. A healthy portion of Dinkins' aerial production (115 yards to be exact) went to Wyatt Tarkington, who also brought in two receiving touchdowns.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Legacy Christian Academy will face off against Tehillah Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Lions will be up against the Warriors' rather soft defense (which has allowed 56.8 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Kings Christian, they will square off against Alpaugh at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Buffalos' defense has only allowed 11.3 points per game this season, so the Crusaders' offense will have their work cut out for them.
