Indian Springs wins going away against Canyon Springs

Recap: Indian Springs COYOTES vs. Canyon Springs Cougars

The Indian Springs COYOTES's's and the Canyon Springs Cougars's game on Friday was close at halftime, but the Indian Springs COYOTES turned on the heat in the second half with 33 points. Indian Springs blew past Canyon Springs 63-40. The win was just what Indian Springs needed coming off of a 72-50 defeat in their prior match.

Indian Springs had a senior duo take command as Adorian Cherry scored 29 points along with five rebounds and Jordan Culberson dropped a double-double on 21 points and 18 rebounds. The matchup was Cherry's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Zachai Jacobs was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with 11 rebounds and three steals.

Despite the loss, Canyon Springs had strong showings from Tyler Vann, who scored eight points along with five rebounds, and Derek Williams, who scored 13 points.

Indian Springs has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-12 record this season. As for Canyon Springs, they bumped their record down to 9-8 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Indian Springs will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Jurupa Valley at 6:15 p.m. on January 9, 2024. Canyon Springs and Paloma Valley will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 3, 2024 without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Paloma Valley is coming into the match on a six-game losing streak.
