Softball Recap: Foothill Takes a Loss

If Foothill was riding high fresh off their 8-2 takedown of Northwood last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Foothill took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Brea Olinda Wildcats on Thursday. The Knights were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Foothill saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brooklyn Austin, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Austin has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times she's played. Another was Zamarippa Belle, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Foothill's defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Brea Olinda, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-4.

Coming up, Foothill will take on Garden Grove in a tournament on Saturday. Foothill is facing Garden Grove at the right time seeing as Garden Grove is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Brea Olinda, they will square off against Troy at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday.
