Recap: Barnwell Warhorses vs. Woodland Wolverines
The Barnwell Warhorses suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Friday. They were dealt a 78-37 loss at the hands of Woodland. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Barnwell in their matchups with Woodland: they've now lost four in a row.
Barnwell's loss came despite strong showings from Damahjai Devoe and Jonavan Minor. Devoe scored nine points, while Minor scored eight points.
Barnwell has been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season. As for Woodland, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season.
Barnwell won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Williston-Elko at 6:30 p.m. on January 20th. Williston-Elko will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. Woodland will take on Ridgeland-Hardeeville at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Ridgeland-Hardeeville will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps South Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 218th, while Woodland is ranked 51st).
