Softball Recap: Pewitt Comes Up Short

Pewitt lost to Maud back in March and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Brahmas came up short against the Cardinals, falling 9-3. The Brahmas have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Alyssa Strickland made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Mylee Morris, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

Pewitt's loss dropped their record down to 12-9. As for Maud, they are on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 18 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-6-1 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pewitt will face off against Rivercrest at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Maud, they will challenge McLeod at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cardinals' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Longhorns have averaged an impressive 8.4 runs per game this season.
