Softball Recap: Wellington Triumphs

While Wellington's victory against Seminole Ridge wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Wolverines had just enough and edged out the Hawks 6-5 on Wednesday. The Wolverines haven't had any issues with the Hawks recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Cameron Vickers spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Gabi De Los Reyes, who went 3-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Jasmine Jones, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Wellington kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2025.

Wellington now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Seminole Ridge, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wellington will take on Cardinal Gibbons at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Seminole Ridge, they will face off against Palm Beach Central at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Broncos have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13 runs per game on average), something the Hawks will no doubt try to take advantage of.
