Football Recap: Robertsdale Golden Bears vs. Fairhope Pirates
Robertsdale was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 38-14 to the Fairhope Pirates. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Golden Bears of the 35-6 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2015.
Fairhope had a senior duo take command as Desmond Thomas rushed for 134 yards and a touchdown and Jahaven Johnson rushed for 74 yards and two touchdowns on only five carries. Thomas really tore up the turf during one magnificent 89-yard run.
Robertsdale now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Fairhope, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-1.
Robertsdale didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 45-14 defeat vs. Orange Beach on the 27th. Fairhope has also already played their next match, a 15-7 loss against Theodore on the 27th.
