Basketball Recap: Hillcrest Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Hillcrest can now relate to. They fell 47-40 to the Bayside Academy Admirals on Saturday. The Jaguars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Admirals apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2016.

Despite the loss, Hillcrest still got an impressive performance from Jontavuis Lett, who posted 14 points. Lett continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. J.T. Barlow was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Hillcrest's defeat dropped their record down to 20-11. As for Bayside Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-13 record this season.

Hillcrest does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Bayside Academy, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 57-35 loss against Wilcox Central on the 12th.
