Basketball Recap: Atlantic's Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Atlantic entered their tilt with Grandview Prep on Saturday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 77-65 win over the Grandview Prep Pride.

Atlantic's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from James Tillman, who went 9 for 22 on his way to 21 points along with six assists and five rebounds. Those six assists gave Tillman a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jonathan Richard, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 13 boards.

Grandview Prep's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jamir Davis, who posted 11 points in addition to eight rebounds and seven assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Mike Jennings, who went 7 of 11 en route to 19 points.

Atlantic is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. As for Grandview Prep, their loss dropped their record down to 13-5.

Atlantic will take on Park Vista at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Atlantic's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last ten contests. As for Grandview Prep, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 68-64 victory against American Heritage on the 22nd.
