Softball Recap: Stone Mountain Pirates vs. Mt. Zion Bulldogs

Stone Mountain was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 21-9 to the Mt. Zion Bulldogs. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Pirates of the 20-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August.

Jalya Jones was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 1-for-1. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyla Golden, who scored a run and stole a base.

Even though they lost, Stone Mountain was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. The last time their batting average was this high was back in September of 2023.

Stone Mountain's loss dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Mt. Zion, their win bumped their record up to 9-2.

Stone Mountain will be playing at home against Cedar Grove at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Mt. Zion, they will head out to face off against Stephenson at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Mt. Zion is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 18.5 runs per game this season.
