Baseball Recap: Norco Comes Up Short

Thursday just wasn't the day for Norco's offense. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Corona Panthers on Thursday. The Cougars have struggled against the Panthers recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost meeting.

Norco got a good showing from Trent Schlim, who tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Schlim has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

Norco's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Corona, their win was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-0.

Norco has already played their next contest, a 1-0 victory against Arlington on the 25th. As for Corona, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 6-0 win against Gahr on the 25th.
