Baseball Recap: Cohasset Wins Going Away Against Hull

Cohasset never got on the board in their matchup last Friday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Hull on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 14-4 margin over the Pirates. That ten run margin sets a new team best for the Skippers this season.

Kevin Sweet made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. Sweet was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

In other batting news, Tucker Bliss was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Anthony Simone was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Cohasset always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .564. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Cohasset's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Hull, their defeat was their first of the season and also makes their record 3-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cohasset will welcome Abington at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Skippers 3.8, the Green Wave 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Hull, they will be playing in front of their home fans against West Bridgewater at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
