Basketball Game Preview: Sandy Valley Cardinals vs. Union Local Jets

The Sandy Valley Cardinals will venture away from home to square off against the Union Local Jets at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Sandy Valley is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.

Sandy Valley saw some tournament action on Saturday. They were beaten by Conotton Valley 65-36.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Union Local, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They came out on top against Martins Ferry by a score of 60-52 on Friday.

Union Local pushed their record up to 16-6 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.8 points over those games. As for Sandy Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 7-15.

Sandy Valley ended up a good deal behind Union Local when the teams last played back in March of 2015, losing 70-55. Can Sandy Valley avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
