Volleyball Recap: Perry-Lecompton Beats St. Marys for Their Fourth Straight Win

Perry-Lecompton waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the St. Marys Bears. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-0 last Tuesday.

Perry-Lecompton easily took the first set, but they let things get interesting in the other. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-20.

Their offense was headlined by Macie Corcoran and Paxton Damme, who picked up seven kills apiece. They got some help from Emmy Reed and her 22 assists. Corcoran was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Perry-Lecompton's victory bumped their record up to 15-7. As for St. Marys, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 17 of their last 18 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-31 record this season.

Perry-Lecompton has already played their next match, a 2-1 win against Jefferson West on the 4th. As for St. Marys, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Rossville on the 7th.
