Softball Recap: Bartram Trail Victorious

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Tuesday as neither Bartram Trail nor Bradford made it on the board until the eighth inning. The Bears sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-6 victory over the Tornadoes. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bears have posted since April 2, 2025.

Rommeney Patrey made a splash while hitting and pitching. She tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Andi Gooch was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March of 2025. Another player making a difference was Makenna Borgmeyer, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one RBI.

Bartram Trail was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive games.

Bartram Trail's record is now 3-1. As for Bradford, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Coming up, Bartram Trail will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Palatka at 6:30 p.m. As for Bradford, they will venture away from home to challenge Fort White at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
