Basketball Recap: Gorham Fayette Comes Up Short

Gorham Fayette was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They took a 37-24 hit to the loss column at the hands of the North Central Eagles. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against Gorham Fayette this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 59-41 on January 7th.

When it comes to explaining why Gorham Fayette lost, don't look at Caden Leininger. Despite the final result, he almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine boards. Those nine rebounds gave Leininger a new career-high. Dane Andrews also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Gorham Fayette's loss dropped their record down to 1-15. As for North Central, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-10.

Gorham Fayette didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 62-32 defeat against Hicksville on the 25th. As for North Central, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 57-53 victory against Continental on the 25th.
