Soccer Game Preview: Walker vs. Denham Springs

Walker is 1-9 against Denham Springs since December of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Walker Wildcats will face off against the Denham Springs Yellowjackets at 6:00 p.m. Denham Springs took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Walker, who comes in off a win.

Walker is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. Their defense stepped up to hand Hammond an 8-0 shutout on Monday. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Wildcats with their most commanding win of the season.

Meanwhile, Denham Springs faced Mandeville in a battle between two of the state's top teams last Saturday. Denham Springs fell 4-2 to Mandeville. The Yellowjackets' defeat signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Walker pushed their record up to 6-3 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up two goals over those six matches. As for Denham Springs, their loss dropped their record down to 8-3.
