Baseball Game Preview: Bearden Bulldogs vs. Macon County Tigers

The Bearden Bulldogs will be taking part in a tournament against the Macon County Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Bearden is coming into the contest hot, having won their last six games.

Bearden saw some tournament action on Thursday. They walked away with an 8-5 win over Lakeway Christian Academy.

Macon County never got on the board in their matchup on Thursday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Lenoir City on Thursday. They came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 11-6.

Landon Connor looked comfortable as he pitched 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has become a key player for Macon County: the team is undefeated when he allows at most two hits, but 4-5 otherwise.

At the plate, Braylon Flowers was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Macon County is undefeated when Flowers posts two or more runs, but 3-5 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Eli Carver, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.

Macon County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .553. The last time their OBP was this high was back in March of 2024.

Bearden pushed their record up to 13-1 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Macon County, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season.
