Football Recap: Orange Vista Starts Season with Defeat on the Road

Orange Vista had to start their season on the road on Thursday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They took a 20-6 bruising from the Apple Valley Sun Devils. The Coyotes were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Sun Devils apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

Khalil Abdul-Aziz threw for 130 yards and one TD. Dominic DuBois was his top target, picking up 53 receiving yards and one touchdown. On the ground, Bobby Greer rushed for 34 yards.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Noah Hardeman and Jacob Cabrera. Hardeman rushed for 90 yards and one score on only 12 carries while Cabrera rushed for 80 yards. Those 90 rushing yards gave Hardeman a new career-high.

Orange Vista has already played their next match, a 35-34 loss against Downey on the 29th. As for Apple Valley, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 16-6 victory against Highland on the 29th.
