Softball Recap: Stanton Extends Winning Streak to Four

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Stanton ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They won by a run and slipped past the Eagle's View Warriors 14-13. The win was familiar territory for the Blue Devils, who have now won four games in a row.

Leah Joseph made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 21 batters over eight innings while giving up five earned (and seven unearned) runs off seven hits. Those 21 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-6 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Emmalyn Gensch, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Bailey Forrest, who scored three runs while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.

Stanton's record now sits at 8-2. As for Eagle's View, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.

Stanton wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 10-0 defeat against Wolfson on the 7th. As for Eagle's View, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 25-12 victory against First Coast Christian on the 4th.
