Baseball Game Preview: West Stokes Wildcats vs. Morehead Panthers

The West Stokes Wildcats will face off against the Morehead Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. West Stokes will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.

West Stokes' pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They walked away with a 5-0 victory over Walkertown.

Meanwhile, Morehead can bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Reidsville 9-7.

The team relied heavily on Reece Dunovant, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March. Judson Friese was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

West Stokes pushed their record up to 17-2 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.1 runs on average over those games. As for Morehead, their victory bumped their record up to 8-12.
