Basketball Recap: Gorman Panthers vs. Bangs Dragons
Gorman couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell to the Bangs Dragons 35-31. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Dragons apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
Leading Bangs to victory were Braxton Wommack and Mason Minshew. Wommack went 7 for 11 en route to 17 points plus two steals, while Minshew almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds. Wommack is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season.
The win snapped Bangs' losing streak at 30 games dating back to last season and leaves them with a 1-2 record.
Gorman will face off against Rising Star at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bangs, they will welcome San Saba at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
