Basketball Recap: Bel Air Piles Up the Points Against Parkland

Bel Air won the last time they faced Parkland and things went their way on Friday too. The Bel Air Highlanders simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Parkland Matadors 60-29. The Highlanders have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matches by 20 points or more this season.

Bel Air got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jayde Martinez out in front who went 6 for 11 en route to 17 points and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyssa Saldana, who posted 21 points in addition to seven boards and five steals.

Bel Air was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Parkland only posted seven assists.

Parkland's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Brissa Rubal, who scored 11 points, and Daisy Nunez, who put up 11 points and six rebounds.

Bel Air has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season. As for Parkland, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 9-16.

Bel Air didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 42-40 defeat against Hanks on the 14th. As for Parkland, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 41-24 victory against Horizon on the 14th.
