Baseball Recap: Union Local Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Union Local ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They skirted past the Monroe Central Seminoles 4-3. That's two games straight that the Jets have won by just one run.

The win (which was Union Local's third in a row) raised their record to 8-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Monroe Central, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-7 record this season.

Union Local will head out to take on Maysville at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Jets are facing the Panthers at the right time seeing as the Panthers are stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Monroe Central, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Shenandoah at 6:00 p.m. The Seminoles will also cruise into their next contest with the timing on their side: the Zeps will have lost 13 straight heading into Friday's matchup.
