Softball Recap: Whitehaven Comes Up Short

Whitehaven extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping them down to 3-5. They lost 26-0 to the Briarcrest Christian Saints. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Tigers of the 15-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2025.

As for Briarcrest Christian, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-10. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

For Briarcrest Christian's part, Adalynn Kennedy made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Those nine strikeouts gave Kennedy a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three runs.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kaelyn Mitchell, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Regina McIntosh was another key player, going 1-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple.

Coming up, Whitehaven will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against White Station at 4:00 p.m. As for Briarcrest Christian, they will head out on the road to take on Lakeland Preparatory at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Saints' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Lions have averaged an impressive 10.7 runs per game this season.
