Softball Game Preview: Pinkerton Astros vs. Salem Blue Devils

The Pinkerton Astros will face off against the Salem Blue Devils at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Salem will be up against a hot Pinkerton squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. The Astros' pitchers stepped up to hand Nashua North a 22-0 shutout on Friday. Fans of the Astros have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.

Meanwhile, Salem got the win against Alvirne on Thursday by a conclusive 18-0. The Blue Devils have beaten the Broncos the last six times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Broncos has come to flipping the script.

Salem now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Pinkerton, their victory bumped their record up to 3-0.

Pinkerton came out on top in a nail-biter against Salem in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. Do the Astros have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Blue Devils turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
