Softball Recap: Vermillion Has No Trouble Against Parkston

Vermillion had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the seven-run drubbing they dealt Parkston on Thursday. The Tanagers blew past the Trojans 10-3. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Tanagers also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Vermillion has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-9 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.8 runs over those games. As for Parkston, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-13.

Vermillion didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 5-4 defeat against Dakota Valley on the 23rd. Parkston has also already played their next contest (against Wagner), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
