Softball Recap: Booker Takes a Loss

If Booker was riding high fresh off their 50-33 takedown of Southeast last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Booker Tornadoes came up short against the Bayshore Bruins on Monday, falling 28-15. The Tornadoes haven't had much luck with the Bruins recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Makenzie Poppa made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole Five bases. while going 3-for-3. Poppa is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least five every time she's taken the field this season. Joanna Diego-Lucas was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing Three bases. while getting on base in two of her five plate appearances.

Even though they lost, Booker always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .634. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .634 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Booker fell to 2-1. As for Bayshore, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Coming up, Booker will square off against Family Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Booker's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs every time they've taken the field this season. As for Bayshore, they will challenge Gibbs at 7:00 p.m. on March 11th.
