Soccer Game Preview: Watauga vs. Asheville

The Watauga Pioneers will look to take advantage of their home pitch for the first time this season as they take on the Asheville Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Watauga was handed a five-goal loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Tuesday. Their defense stepped up to hand Foard a 1-0 shutout. The Pioneers wouldn't have won without Hannah Graham, who scored the game-winner.

Meanwhile, Asheville came tearing into Thursday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4 goals), and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 4-2 win over the Eagles. That's two games straight that the Cougars have won by exactly two goals.

Asheville's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Watauga, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2-1.
