The Marian Mustangs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight defeat. Their tough 46-25 loss to Gabriel Richard might stick with them for a while. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Marian in their matchups with the Fighting Irish: they've now lost five in a row.

Despite the defeat, Marian saw an underclassman step up: McKenley Reid scored eight points along with five steals. Reid has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played.

Marian's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Gabriel Richard, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 13-0.
