Recap: Frontier Academy Wolverines vs. Brush Beetdiggers

The Frontier Academy Wolverines suffered their biggest loss since December 7, 2023 on Friday. They took a serious blow against Brush, falling 62-24. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Frontier Academy has suffered against Brush since February 16, 2018.

Emily Gesick and Aaliyah Richardson certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Gesick scored ten points, while Richardson scored seven points.

Brush got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Karime Castillo out in front who scored ten points along with eight steals and six assists. Another player making a difference was Sarah Becker, who scored 13 points along with two steals.

Frontier Academy are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-8. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 28.5 points per game. As for Brush, their victory bumped their record up to 3-8.

Frontier Academy will head out on the road to take on Strasburg at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Strasburg presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Frontier Academy in Colorado (Strasburg is ranked 103rd, while Frontier Academy is ranked 251st). As for Brush, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Resurrection Christian at 6:00 p.m. Hopefully Resurrection Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Saturday.
