Baseball Recap: Lansdale Catholic Takes a Loss

Lansdale Catholic couldn't beat Bethlehem Catholic on Monday even though they stacked five runs on them in the first inning. The Crusaders fell 9-6 to the Hawks.

Ben Holdsworth was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He tossed 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Holdsworth wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Dan Grosch, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That hit was Grosch's first of the season.

Lansdale Catholic's record now sits at 3-12. As for Bethlehem Catholic, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-11.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lansdale Catholic will host Central at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lancers will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Crusaders surely won't give up without a fight. As for Bethlehem Catholic, they will welcome North Pocono at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
