Volleyball Recap: West Valley Wins Going Away Against Heritage

West Valley barely beat Heritage the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The West Valley Mustangs put the hurt on the Heritage Patriots with a sharp 3-0 win on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Patriots: they've now won three in a row.

West Valley not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Heritage between 19 and 21 points across their sets. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-21, 25-20.

West Valley had a senior duo take command as Carlvin Valdez had 11 digs and one block and Diego Allievi had 22 digs, 12 kills, and two blocks. With that strong performance, Allievi is now averaging an impressive 11.2 digs per game. Another player making a difference was Tieshon Spivey, who had 12 kills, five digs, and one block.

West Valley's win bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Heritage, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6.

Looking ahead, West Valley will challenge Citrus Hill at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Heritage, they will square off against Beaumont at 5:15 p.m. on Friday.
