Softball Recap: Rainier Gets the Win

While Rainier's win against Corbett wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Columbians sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-8 victory over the Cardinals on Monday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 22-5 two weeks ago.

The team relied heavily on Destiny McKay, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two RBI. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high. Maddy Twichell was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three runs.

Rainier's win bumped their record up to 7-8. As for Corbett, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.

Rainier will have a chance to go back-to-back against Corbett: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
