Softball Recap: Petaluma Picks Up Fourth Straight Win at Home

Petaluma lost a heartbreaker the last time they played American Canyon, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Wednesday's match. The Trojans put the hurt on the Wolves with a sharp 11-1 victory on Wednesday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Trojans needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

Lily Pardini spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits.

At the plate, Petaluma got a massive performance out of Bella Hudson, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most hits Hudson has posted since back in March. Lauren Wilson was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI.

Petaluma pushed their record up to 14-6 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for American Canyon, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-10.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Petaluma will face off against Sonoma Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Dragons will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last. As for American Canyon, they will take on Justin-Siena at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wolves are facing the Braves at the right time seeing as the Braves are stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
