Football Recap: Colonia Extends Winning Streak to Three

Colonia entered their tilt with Plainfield on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They enjoyed a cozy 27-13 victory over the Cardinals. For the Patriots, this counts as revenge for the 35-6 win the Cardinals walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.

Colonia had a senior duo take command as Rj Wortman picked up 113 receiving yards and three touchdowns and Dylan Chiera threw for 201 yards and three TDs while completing 80% of his passes. Wortman also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making two total tackles and defending two passes in addition to snagging an interception.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Colonia's defense and their five sacks. Plainfield's QB won't forget Julien Jones anytime soon given he sacked him twice. Aj Reinoso was another major factor on D, picking up a sack and making 11 total tackles (2.0 for loss).

Colonia's record is now 5-2. As for Plainfield, their loss dropped their record down to 3-4.

Looking ahead, Colonia will welcome Cranford at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Plainfield, they will head out to square off against Somerville at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Pioneers will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last.
