Softball Recap: Castlewood Takes Down Ranked Wagner

Castlewood faced Wagner in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Warriors came out on top against the Red Raiders by a score of 7-2. Seven seems to be a good number for the Warriors as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Castlewood pushed their record up to 4-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Wagner, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-5.

Coincidentally, Castlewood and Wagner will both be playing Avon the next time they take the field. The Warriors will head out to face the Pirates on Saturday, while the Red Raiders will play them later in the day, at 10:00 a.m.
