Baseball Recap: Glendale Prep Academy Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Glendale Prep Academy and Tombstone squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Glendale Prep Academy had to settle for second. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (2-1), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time.

Logan Middendorf spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on five hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Glendale Prep Academy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nathaniel Jensen, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Glendale Prep Academy's loss dropped their record down to 16-4. As for Tombstone, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-7-1 record this season.

Glendale Prep Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Tombstone, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Benson at 6:30 p.m. The Yellow Jackets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bobcats have averaged an impressive 6.9 runs per game this season.
