Softball Recap: Barnum Picks Up Eighth Consecutive Victory

Barnum waltzed into their matchup on Friday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the South Ridge Panthers a 10-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Bombers, who have now won nine games by six runs or more so far this season.

Makenna Ziesmer and Piper Genereau did most of the damage at the plate: Ziesmer went 2-for-3 with two triples, three RBI, and two runs, while Genereau went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Those two triples gave Ziesmer a new career-high. Lucy Franek was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Barnum's victory bumped their record up to 16-2. As for South Ridge, their loss dropped their record down to 6-8.

As of now, neither Barnum nor the Panthers have any future games scheduled.
